OneFineDay_FCBestselling author Rachel Hauck and debut author Carrie Padgett return to Hearts Bend, TN in this contemporary inspirational romance.

In One Fine Day, Chloe LaRue left Hearts Bend many years ago to attend pastry school in Paris and eventually settles down in France. When her husband dies in a tragic accident and her mother’s health declines, she finds herself back in Hearts Bend, face-to-face with her high school crush Sam Hardy. Will the widowed baker and former football star have a second chance at love?

Hauck and Padgett recreate the small town of Hearts Bend first introduced in Hauck’s Wedding Collection (Wedding Dress Shop, etc.). But one does not need to read those earlier books to enjoy this one. It is a standalone novel that sets up the new series co-written by Hauck and debut authors. Hauck provides the framework (and there are cameos of her Heart Bend characters), but Padgett does an excellent job of taking the recipe and making it her own.

Sam buys the bakery where Chloe was recently hired, setting up interesting dynamics as they navigate their relationship. Sam and Chloe have a second chance at love but only if they can leave the past behind and embrace God’s healing. Faith elements, clean romance, and small-town charm combine to make this a recipe for a happily-ever-after.

Recommended for fans of Susan May Warren’s Deep Haven Collection, as well as Suzanne Woods Fisher’s The Sweet Life,  Denise Hunter, Irene Hannon’s Hope Harbor series, and Courtney Walsh.
