Sweet on You, / by Becky Wade (Bradford Sisters, 3)
Bethany House     ISBN 978-0764219382
Adult     Rating: 5

Award-winning author Becky Wade concludes her contemporary romance series featuring the three Bradford sisters in Merryweather, Washington.

In Sweet on You, chocolate candy maker Britt and bestselling author Zander have been close friends for almost thirteen years – but Britt is unaware that Zander has also been secretly in love with her all these years. Moody, tattooed Zander left Merryweather on a world tour for his bestselling book, and so he wouldn’t have to watch Britt go through more boyfriends. She has no desire to settle down and give control to someone else. When Zander finally returns from his tour, Britt resists changing their relationship, but Zander can’t keep his feelings hidden from her any longer.

When Zander’s uncle dies mysteriously, Zander returns to investigate his uncle’s death with Britt’s help. Can they find the truth about a missing painting? Will they find their way from just-friends to something more, or will it destroy their long-term friendship?

Wade pens a best-friends-to-lovers clean romance, with complex characters and an engaging storyline, with faith struggles by the main characters. Will Britt and Zander find their love story has a happily-ever-after ending, even with Britt’s abduction and an art heist mystery?

Wade delivers a delicious read about a swoon-worthy hero who has patiently waited for his longtime love to recognize him as more than a friend. Sweet on You is more than a childhood friend turned romantic interest with the usual plot — there is an art heist from years ago to solve with plot twists to catch the reader off-guard.

Recommended for high school libraries and adult collections in public libraries. Fans of Susan May Warren’s Christenson Family series will enjoy the Bradford family series.
